The work caught the attention of critics and readers for its narrative freshness in telling a rabidly modern story using a most traditional narrative style. Millanes Rivas, trained in Audiovisual Communication and Theater Studies, condenses the best of a new generation of storytellers willing to experiment with stories and forms as he demonstrates in his new novel "Paisaje nacional".
The narrative of "Paisaje nacional" is set in a former colonization town called El Álamo, where a group of squatters have settled, and it is there that the narrator of this novel finds himself. In this place, an apparition unexpectedly appears to him. The family history is recovered by the narrator as he returns to the place of origin of his ancestors, similar to the work of performed by archaeologists.
