2. Abacus Futur, the new publishing and audiovisual project of Jaume Roures, is born.

A few months ago, Grup Enciclopèdia sold its publishing houses to Abacus and businessman Jaume Roures. On Tuesday, June 4, the merger was signed that will give rise to Abacus Futur, a publishing and audiovisual project that is part of the Abacus cooperative, owned and chaired by producer Jaume Roures. It will integrate the publishing houses of Abacus Editorial (Ara Llibres, Amsterdam, la Casa dels Clàssics-Bernat Metge and Inuk), Enciclopèdia (Univers, La Galera, Elastic Books, Rata, Ediciones Invisibles, Bridge, Catedral), Viena Edicions and Suma Llibres (Navona and Arcàdia). It also incorporates the audiovisual projects developed by Abacus, to which Roures will be added when it completes its current audiovisual commitments. The new group will be headquartered at 4 Peu de la Creu street in Barcelona, former headquarters of Edicions 62.
