On Friday, 31st May 2024, Instituto Cervantes of New York celebrates the 33rd Symposium on Children and Young Adult Literature and Book Fair.

On Friday, 31st May 2024, Instituto Cervantes of New York celebrates the 33rd Symposium on Children and Young Adult Literature and Book Fair. The Symposium, which aims at contributing to the professional development of New York City teachers, features experts in children and young adults' literature, and in Spanish language teachers training.

Our plenary speaker this year, writer Patxi Zubizarreta is the winner of the 2023 National Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature in Spain with the book “Zerria”. Other speakers are Teresa Nasarre, writer and teacher of Spanish at DOE, New York, and Camilo Otero, Artists Programs Manager at the Center for Book Arts in New York. Alongside the Symposium, a Book Fair will take place, bringing together publishers and distributors dedicated to children and young adults' literature.

The Symposium will be held in Spanish. Pre-registration is required through the NYU website. The Book Fair is open to the public.
