Considered as one of the writers on a par with Ildefonso Falcones or Ken Follet, Juan Francisco Ferrándiz has established himself as one of the leading names in historical literature. “La heredera del mar” is by no means his first book, but it continues to establish him as one of the greats for lovers of historical novels. The plot, like many of his books, places us years ago but, in this case, in Spain, telling us a key story for the country, seasoned with fiction.
