Elisa Victoria is the author of books such as "Voz de vieja" (2019) and "El evangelio" (2021), novels that placed her in the spotlight of many readers and marked the launch of her literary career.
Her new novel, "Otaberra" (Blackie Books) is confirmation that we are facing a singular writer, who observes reality with concern and scrutinizes it with bifocal lenses.
Elisa Victoria was born in Seville, a city where she loves the way its people speak, the orange trees and the imagery of its traditions, but where she is scared by the heat and abuse that animals suffer in some tourist attractions. She has lived in Madrid for a while, where she spent part of the pandemic and finished El evangelio. She then decided to look for a quieter place to live, away from the hustle and bustle of the city and isolated from those commitments that could distract her from her true passions, such as writing and the company of her loved ones, including her cats.
