Manuscripts are now accepted for the 62nd edition of the Gabriel Miró Short Story Prize

The Mediterráneo Foundation has opened the call for one of the oldest literary competitions in Spain, the Gabriel Miró Short Story Prize, which this year celebrates its 62nd edition.

The biennial call for applications has a prize pool of 4,000 euros and the deadline for receiving manuscripts ends on March 31.

This call has been delayed for a few months due to the void in the presidency of the jury after the death of Joaquín Santo Matas in November 2022. On this occasion, since the launch of the contest is delayed, the ruling will not be announced until September.

The president of the Mediterráneo Foundation, Luis Boyer, has highlighted that "the Gabriel Miró award has established itself as one of the leading literary competitions in the Spanish language, both for its seniority and for the welcome that Spanish-speaking writers from around the world give us year after year, as demonstrated by the thousands of works submitted to the competition in recent editions.”  More than 1,500 originals were submitted to the last edition of the award.
