The writer Carmen Posadas was born in the Uruguayan city of Montevídeo in 1953 and lived there until she was 12 years old. The daughter of a diplomat and a restaurateur, she is the firstborn of four siblings: three girls and a boy. In 1965 she moved to Madrid with her family and, subsequently, she has lived in Moscow, Buenos Aires, and London, which are cities in which her father held the position of ambassador. She is a very prolific author, since throughout her career she has written more than 15 children's books, as well as twelve novels, two biographies, several film and television scripts and collaborations in the written press.
