The looking-up of synonyms and antonyms is the main novelty of update 23.7 of the Dictionary of the Spanish Language (DLE), ..

which is now available on the web and was presented on Tuesday, November 28 by the director of the RAE, Santiago Muñoz Machado.

This year, in addition, the work incorporates 4,381 new features, new terms, new meanings of previously collected entries, amendments to existing articles and deletions, all of which was described by Elena Zamora, head of the Institute of Lexicography, in charge of the technical description of this update.

For the inclusion of the main synonyms and antonyms of the Spanish voices, synonyms (or related) of 42,882 entries and antonyms (or opposites) of another 9,790 have been identified, selected, and added, resulting in a total of 260,188 synonyms and 20,091 antonyms.
