Núria Molines Galarza wins the 2023 Ángel Crespo Translation Award

The 2023 Ángel Crespo Award has been given to the translator Núria Molines Galarza, for the translation of the work “Primavera fosca,” by Unica Zurn, and published by Wunderkammer.

The Ángel Crespo Award honors of the distinguished translator, poet and humanist who died in Barcelona in 1995.  It is awarded annually by the Collegiate Association of Writers of Catalonia since 1998 to highlight the importance of the work of translators. It is recognized as one of the most reputable competitions in the world of translation due to the high level of the participating works each year.

The award will be presented at the Nit de l’Edició held by the Editors' Guild of Catalonia next Monday, December 4, at the Goya Theater in Barcelona.

Núria Molines Galarza has a degree in Translation and Intercultural Communication from the European University of Valencia. She has a Master’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Conference Interpretation (UEV) and a Master's Degree in Audiovisual Translation (UAB). She translates from English, German and French to Spanish and Catalan. Since she graduated, she has dedicated herself mainly to book translation. She has collaborated with publishers such as Alpha Decay, ContraEscritura, Errata naturae, Finestres, Periférica, Penguin Random House, Wunderkammer, Alfaguara, Jekyll and Jill, etc.
