This Thursday, October 26, one of the reference bookstores in Castellón de la Plana, the award-winning Babel bookstore, will close its doors.
However, the closure will not be definitive, on November 20 it will reopen under the same name but with different owners, the Galician group Arnoia. Arnoia Distribución de Libros S.A. have announced that the bookstore will keep the same staff but will have a new look.
The Babel bookstore was founded in 1992 by Pere Duch and Lledó Beltrán, a couple who, 10 years earlier, had opened their first bookstore, 3 i ratilla, on Carcaixent street in Castellón. 6 years later, in 1988, they would open Faristoll Llibres, in Plaza Cardona Vives, a bookstore that only sold books published in Valencian.
With that experience behind them they would start a new challenge, the Babel bookstore, which at first would be located on Herrero Street in the Castellón capital, and, 5 years later, in 1997, move to its current location on Guitarrista Tárrega Street.
