Benito González the writer from Salamanca (Spain) , wins the 10th Hispania Prize for Historical Novels

After the publication of “Tiempo de espinas” (Punto Rojo Libros, 2019) and “Barbarie” (Adarve, 2022), with which he was a finalist for the Planeta Prize, the writer from Salamanca Benito González has been awarded the 10th Hispania Historical Novel Prize for his novel 'La sentencia'.

On September 28, Ediciones Áltera, publisher of Grupo Caudal, celebrated the award ceremony in Madrid.

Ediciones Áltera, in its purpose of promoting literature that contains the perfect balance between the fictionalized story and the transcendental historical element, has organized the Hispania Historical Novel Prize every year since 2013. In its tenth edition, on April 12, the jury unanimously decided to present the award to the work “La sentencia,” by Benito González, in which "transcendent events from our medieval past that describe notable events in the History of Spain are narrated.” Six months later, the author receives the acclaimed award from fellow writer and journalist, Carlos Salem Sola, president of the jury of the 10th Hispania Prize.
