The seventy-second edition of the Planeta Prize has had a record participation: this year 1,129 novels have been submitted, 461 more than the previous year, ..
a record that confirms, once again, the reputation of the prize and denotes the interest aroused by the award in the field of letters in Spain and Latin America.
It should be noted that this edition was the first in which the originals were not required to be delivered in paper but in digital format by email, which has also contributed to the high participation.
The 2023 Planeta Novel Prize is endowed with 1,000,000 euros for the winning work and 200,000 euros for the runner-up novel. The award will be handed out on Sunday, October 15 at the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (Barcelona), during the course of a literary dinner.
