ACTUALIDAD LITERATURA: Your latest novel is titled “El legado de la niña de sal.” What can you tell us about it?
ELENA GALLEGO ABAD: This is a very special work that goes beyond literary fiction: it is based on the true story of my own mother, Carmen Abad. I built the novel from some manuscripts that I received after her death, in which she recounts the childhood she lived as a girl in the Spanish post-war period, and a series of terrible events that she participated in after being orphaned and taken in by a family with a lot of power at the time.
