Contemporary titles such as 'El ininito en un junco,' 'Patria' or 'Sapiens' extend their success with comic versions and add to a trend that years ago was only possible with classics.
The adaptation of best-selling contemporary books into graphic novels has been on the rise in recent years. A trend in the midst of a golden age that benefits the publishing industry, prolongs success or revives works, enriches the literary universe, combats prejudices that may still remain towards comics and, above all, helps create readers within new generations who are generally more connected to the visual world. These are the main conclusions of 15 writers, illustrators, editors, and experts in promoting reading who were consulted by EL PAÍS.
