“Los pacientes del doctor García” (Tusquets Ed., 2017) is the fourth novel in the series ‘Episodíos de una guerra interminable’ by Almudena Grandes.

It is preceded by “Inés y la alegría,” (2010), “El lector de Julio Verne” (2012) and “Las tres bodas de Manolita” (2014). “La madre de Frankenstein” (2020) is the next book in the series. “Los pacientes del doctor García was the winning novel of the 2018 National Fiction Prize. It was also adapted for television by RTVE and currently presented by Netflix.

With this new novel, Almudena Grandes takes the war beyond the Spanish borders. Doctor Guillermo García Medina will meet again with his old friend Manuel Arroyo Benítez and will become embroiled in a dangerous story of espionage. With this book we come to the end of an endless war.
