After “Sola” (Libros del Asteroide, 2021), her first novel, Carlota Gurt returns to bookstores with "Biografía del fuego" (Libros del Asteroide, 2023), fourteen stories about the instability that haunts us,
displaying once again the overwhelming force of her always surprising literary universe.
In a brief tableau of human relationships, Gurt uses a style that varies between irony and intimate confession. In this collection, there is room for everything from the most brilliant infatuation to the most bitter resentment.
Writer and translator, Carlota Gurt has worked as a production manager in the world of performing arts between 1998 and 2010. She has been translating for ten years. She is also the winner of the 2019 Premio Mercé Rodoreda Award for her work “Cabalgar toda la noche,” a collection of 12 stories.
