Interview with the author Matías Escalera by TodoLiteratura

Matías Escalera is the author of the novels “Un mar invisible” and “El tiempo cifrado,” a collection of short stories and half a dozen collection of poems. In addition, he has been included in numerous anthologies and collective books.

He has been awarded for his play "El refugio" and published "Memorias de un professor malhablado," where he recounts his experiences as a teacher. He is now publishing his new novel "Un sollozo del fin del mundo,” in Kaótika Libros publishing house.

In his new novel, he takes a calculated experimental leap that does not seek cognitive failure, but an impulse from alienation, as Alberto García-Teresa writes in the book's prologue. He analyzes the challenges of today by pausing on the consequences of productivism, global warming, the sharpening of the repressive archetype, social exclusion, and the false faith in science as a cure. In the interview, he gives us some of the fundamentals of the novel.
