The author Blanca Andreu by ActualidadLiteratura

Blanca Andreu was born in La Coruña in 1959, but her childhood and adolescence were spent in Orihuela.

She studied philology which she finished in Madrid where she met the writer Francisco Umbral.  He introduced her to the Madrid literary circles, where she made a name for herself with her poetry, succeeding at a very young age. She later married the novelist Juan Benet, and after his death she returned to La Coruña.

Some of her titles are: “De una niña de provincias que se vino a vivir en un Chagall,” “Capitán Elphistone” and “La tierra transparente.” Among the awards she has received are the Adonais and the Ícaro Prize for Literature. We congratulate her for this selection of poems.
