The National Library of Spain (BNE) announced this Wednesday that a tribute to Francisco Ibáñez (1936-2023), father of Mortadelo and Filemón, will kick off a new collection of the Spanish Web Archive dedicated to comics and graphic novels.
As reported by the BNE, the Spanish Web Archive has selected a "significant amount" of content from the Internet -between news and websites- about Ibáñez and his best-known characters, with the aim of "preserving forever, in the digital collection of the BNE, the figure and footprint of one of our most illustrious cartoonists on the Internet”.
