Pascual Martínez Pérez is from Logroño. He has a degree in Physical Education and works as a temporary civil servant in La Rioja, and, at a vital moment when he was out of work, he took up writing.
This brought about the publishing of his first novel, which belongs to the historical genre: “El morador eterno,” a novel of Alexander the Great.
A few years later, in 2021, he changed the theme for a crime novel and published his second work, “La patria de los suicidas,” which has brought him great success and was a finalist for the Silverio Cañada award for the Gijón Crime Week. He now continues the series and strengthens it with “El santo de Villalobos,” both starring the Civil Guard sergeant Ernesto Pitana. The critics highlighted the setting of the first title, its prose with short and effective sentences which go very well with the dialogues, and the portrayal of the main and secondary characters. In this interview he talks about them and other topics. I thank him for the time and kindness shared in this interview.
