Interview:
ActualidadLiteratura: Your new novel is entitled “La culpa.” What can you tell us about it and where did the idea come from?
María Solar: “La culpa” is the story of Amanda, a young bank worker who receives a millionaire inheritance from an elderly client whom she has only taken care of once. Amanda starts pulling threads in order to discover her identity and she is faced with the story of the lives of two women who fled Spain as teenagers, running away from a great secret. Two wounded, brave, talented friends who seek to survive and succeed, and they do succeed, but over time a perverse situation of domination is established between them. When someone kills for you, that debt is never paid off and you will always be indebted to that person. That's why “La culpa” is a story of a terrible and toxic friendship taken to an extreme. We will see how Amanda will inherit the guilt of others.
