The prizes of the Crime Week of Gijón 2023 are announced

Dashiell Hammett award for the best novel written in the Spanish language in 2022.

Meeting on the night of July 13, 2023, the jury made up of Elia Barceló, Miguel Barrero, Juan Ramón Biedma, Alfonso Mateo Sagasta and Noemí Sabugal, unanimously decided to award the Dashiell Hammett Prize to the novel 'Litio,' by Imanol Caneyada, for the creation of a work full of tenderness and compassion in a ruthless world.

Rodolfo Walsh award for the best non-fiction work of the crime genre.

The jury of the Rodolfo Walsh Award for the best non-fiction crime-themed work, made up of Marifé Antuña, José Luis Argüelles, Carlos Quílez, Miguel Rojo and Pablo Batalla as secretary, gathered in Gijón and unanimously agreed to grant the award to 'Obra maestra,' by Juan Tallón, appreciating it as a literary work of great consequence, magnificently written, with an audacious structure and organization of the materials derived from a rigorous investigation, which with fine irony, uncovers some of the miseries of contemporary art. This is transferred into a reflection of enormous interest in what today is or is not a work of art.
