Publisher IEEE in Transformative Agreement With Spain’s Universities

The new three-year transformative agreement for IEEE and Spain’s ‘CRUE’ universities is available to researchers wanting open access.

Today (July 11), IEEE—the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers—has made a three-year transformative agreement with a consortium of Spanish universities to support authors in Spain who want to publish their scholarly, research, and academic papers in open access.

The effect of this agreement, according to its parties, is that “all researchers belonging to participating Spanish institutions can publish open-access articles in approximately 200 leading journals and magazines published by IEEE.”

Those writers looking for the open-access route can publish in any of IEEE’s 160 hybrid open-access journals. What’s more, authors who opt for the institute’s fully open-access journals will get a 20-percent discount off the “article processing charges”—also called APCs.
