will celebrate the VIII edition of Women Writers' Day on October 15th to do justice to the work and legacy of women who have written throughout history and which this year has the motto ‘El placer, la alegría y la risa de las mujeres’ (the pleasure, joy, and laughter of women).

The commissioner of the eighth edition and writer Marta Sanz has proposed that this Day of Women Writers be "a day of double celebration". "Celebration of writing and a way of perceiving reality silenced for a long time, and celebration of that expression of joy, happiness and laughter that is often taboo for women who have been taught self-denial, restraint and sacrifice."
