Mónica Rouanet is from Alicante with Valencian and French origins. She studied Philosophy and Arts specializing in Educational Sciences and Psychology.
She has been working for more than 20 years in intervention projects with people at risk of social exclusion, but she has never abandoned her true passion, which is writing. Among her novels are “El camino de las luciérnagas,” which she tells us about in this interview, and “Nada importante.” I really appreciate her time and kindness.
AL: The novel you are promoting right now is “El camino de las luciérnagas.” What can you tell us about it and where did the idea come from?
MR: “El camino de las luciérnagas” is my first and, at the same time, my last novel because I have been lucky that Roca Editorial invited me to rewrite and update it to do a new edition. The main story and the characters remain the same, although I have modified the time in which the action takes place and that has generated some changes. I have also improved the style and the narrative and, according to what the readers say, the result is great. This is a novel that I have a special affection for because it has characters with whom it is very easy to identify.
