which represents the contribution of the Republican exile to the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Luis García Montero, director of the Instituto Cervantes, highlighted the work of the UNAM as "a point of reference in our fraternal work, that of the institutions that, from the spheres of public affairs and collaboration, work to teach and promote culture in Spanish, our language and our traditions.”
This tribute is also part of the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Center for Mexican Studies UNAM – Spain, an organization that collaborates with the Instituto Cervantes in certifying knowledge of Spanish and teaching the language, and whose facilities are in the headquarters of the Instituto Cervantes in Madrid. In addition, García Montero reminded the implementation of projects with this "sister institution" such as the Canoa network, a platform for the internationalization of Hispanic culture and reflection of the Spanish language in the world.
