The writer Carme Riera is the new president of CEDRO

Madrid, 06/21/2023. The writer Carme Riera has been appointed president of the Spanish Center for Reprographic Rights (CEDRO), after the Entity held its General Assembly of Members on June 21, which has elected its new Board of Directors.

Thus, Riera, who already held the presidency between 2015 and 2019, replaces the editor Daniel Fernández and will hold this position for the next four years.

The new Board of Directors will work to defend and protect the interests of writers, translators and authors of books, newspapers, magazines and scores and to promote respect for their intellectual property rights as an indisputable condition to ensure the sustainability of written culture, mainly in the public sector.

Carme Riera is a member of the Royal Spanish Academy. She is a professor of Spanish Literature at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Director of the J. A. Goytisolo Chair and National Prize for Spanish Literature (2015).
