The call to entry for the 2023 Lazarillo Prizes for Literary Creation is open

The delivery period for the 2023 Lazarillo Prizes will be open until September 30th.

To promote the production of books for young audiences, the Spanish Organization for Children and Young Adult Books (OEPLI), sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Sports and McDonald's, announces the 2023 Lazarillo Award for Literary Creation, young category, for works written in any of the languages of the Spanish State, aimed at boys and girls 12 years old and up.

This award, the oldest in Spanish children and young adult literature, was convened in 1958 by the now extinct Spanish National Book Institute in its triple category of writers, illustrators, and publishers, to inspire the production of good children and young adult books. It is one of the few independent awards from any publishing label that prestigious writers and illustrators of Spanish children and young adult literature have won. Since 1986, the Spanish Organization for Children and Young Adult Books (OEPLI) has overseen the entries annually, in its two categories: Illustrated Album and Literary Creation.
