Two works by Mar Busquets have just seen the light of day, one is the novel “Al otro lado” (Sargantana, 2023), ..

which deals with the lives of three generations of women and how the violence that surrounds them persists over time and, a collection of poems written together with the poet Elia S. Temporal, titled “a/brazadas” (Olé Libros, 2023), which is a poetic dialogue between the two poets about being a woman and writing in these times.

TL: Where did you find the inspiration to write your novel “Al otro lado”?

MB: I found inspiration in the figures of Teresa Wilms Montt, who is a formidable poet from the early 20th century, with an introduction by Valle-Inclán, whom I discovered recently and whose life and work left me very impressed, and Daniela, the Mime, a contemporary character, with which I wanted to establish a parallel.
