Total sales are above last year's despite the decrease in the number of visitors in a very wet edition.
In the 82nd edition of the Madrid Book Fair, the total sales made totaled 11,188,000 euros. Despite having been the rainiest fair since the year 2000, with 12 days of rain out of the 17 that the event lasted, the volume of business has exceeded that of 2022 by 9.6%. Additionally, over 600,000 copies were sold.
This figure is especially positive considering the rise in the price of books in the last year, 2.5%, due to the increase in the cost of paper, energy and transportation.
