The General Directorate of Books, Comics and Reading commemorates the 150th anniversary of the birth of José Martínez Ruiz -Azorín- with various initiatives aimed at revisiting the legacy of one of the most important authors of the so-called "Generation of 98."
The main action will be the Azorín round table: ‘Historia como prisma’ (a historical point of view) which will be held on June 21 at the Ortega Marañón Foundation and will bring together experts in the writer's work. Francisco Fuster, from the University of Valencia; Lola Dobón, from the European University of Madrid, and José Luis Villacañas, from the Complutense University of Madrid, will analyze the legacy of the writer from Alicante, his role in the literary and political history of Spain, and his friendship with Baroja and other authors of his generation.
In addition, the Collective Catalog of Bibliographic Heritage has drawn up a map, accessible from its web page, that contains the location of the editions of Azorín's work which, being prior to 1959, form part of the bibliographic heritage of a historical nature and are found in Spanish library collections.
