“El olvido que seremos” is a fictionalized biography written by the Colombian author Héctor Abad Faciolince.

The work —inspired by his father, the doctor, politician, and professor Héctor Joaquín Abad Gómez— was published by the Planeta publishing house in 2005. After its release, the work had three additional editions, which reflected its commercial success.  After some time, around forty more editions were printed.

In Colombia alone, “El olvido que seremos” reached more than 200,000 copies sold during subsequent years. This is how, later, it became a cult text. At the same time, Héctor Abad Faciolince's book obtained success in countries such as Mexico and Spain, making it one of the most widely read literary titles in all Iberoamerica.
