The new book by the writer and academic, which will be published on September 5th, pays tribute to detective literature and Sherlock Holmes
On September 5th, Alfaguara will publish 'El problema final,' the new novel by Arturo Pérez-Reverte, a classic problem-novel that pays homage to one of the most important detectives of all time, Sherlock Holmes, to its author, Arthur Conan Doyle, and the actor who gave him his face and image, Basil Rathbone. Set in 1960, there is also a tribute to cinema in the story and, ultimately, to fiction and its indisputable influence on reality.
Pérez-Reverte has said on numerous occasions that the British detective, along with Don Quixote and the three (or four) musketeers, are the greatest, most fascinating, and original characters in universal literature.
