Monóvar exposes unpublished documents from Azorín hidden in the writer's suitcase

'Azorín's suitcase' will be opened to the public on June 8th at the Casa Museo del Literato, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of his birth.

The city of Monóvar (Alicante), where José Martínez Ruiz, better known by his pseudonym Azorín, was born, will open this Thursday an exhibition that brings together a selection of documents from the writer of the Generation of '98, including letters, photographs, telegrams, and notebooks, which have remained hidden to date and were found in his personal suitcase.

The exhibition, which bears the generic title "Azorín's suitcase", has been installed in the Casa Museo del literato and will open to the public this Thursday, June 8th, the day on which the 150th anniversary of his birth is commemorated.

The Mediterranean Foundation preserves the Azorín House Museum in Monóvar, a key cultural and documentary center for those interested in and researchers of his work and from which they work to keep the writer's legacy alive.
