The Bibliodiversidad Awards were created by the Comisión de Pequeños Editores of the Madrid Publishers Association to recognize the institutions, media and personalities that support independent publishing.

The Pequeños Editores de Madrid presented today, June 2nd. the Premios Bibliodiversidad during the party that was held in the Pabellón de los Jardines Cecilio Rodríguez of the Parque de El Retiro, within the framework of the Madrid Book Fair.

In the presentation of the Awards, the president of the AEM, Manuel González, reviewed the figures that define what Bibliodiversidad (bibliodiversity) represents both at the state level and in the Community of Madrid. Thus, he highlighted the importance of small publishers in the Madrid and Spanish publishing industry in fields such as employment, and their contribution to the publishing industry with more than 300,000 active titles in the catalogs of Madrid publishers. This volume of production means that almost 40% of the inventory that is available in the catalogs of Spanish publishers are Madrid publishers.
