The New York City International Book Fair is the guest of honor at the Valencia Book Fair.

For the first time, the New York City International Book Fair will be the guest of honor at the Valencia Book Fair.

This fair is organized by the Institute of Mexican Studies in New York and aims to promote the Spanish language in the United States, as well as direct contact between readers, authors, and publishers.

On behalf of the FILNY, the general director of the fair, José Higuera López, and the general coordinator, Dejanira Álvarez Cárdenas, will attend. The writers selected by the FILNY committee to attend the Valencia Book Fair are, the writer Yuyi Herrera and the writer Mayte López.

Yuyi Herrera was born in 1970 in Actopan, Hidalgo, Mexico. He has published the children's books “Este es mi nahual,” and “Los ojos de Lía;” and the novels “Trabajos del reino,” “Señales que precederán a la otra parte del mundo,” and, “La transmigración de los cuerpos.”  The three novels have been translated into different languages.
