TodoLiteratura interviews author Javier Olalde

Javier Olalde (Asturias, 1944), lived in Oviedo until he was twelve years old and has lived in Madrid ever since. He studied Hispanic Literature and has a degree in Philosophy.

His first book of verses, 'Ensueños y agonias,' came out in 1965. He then published 'Leído en el gris' (1968) and 'Alguno habló de soledad' (1970). Books that make up his first poetic period.

He practiced journalism for years, becoming director of two specialized sports magazines. Subsequently, he began his second and definitive poetic period with the publication of 'Toda la tarde andada' (2017), continuing with 'Mi modo de ser árbol' (2018), a book recommended by the Association of Poetry Publishers, 'Extravaganza Inficita' (2019), the reissue of 'Alguno habló de soledad' (2020) and 'Cierta como Morgana' (2022). In prose, he is the author of the aphoristic reflections published in 'Extravagancia Infinita' (2019) and the philosophical essay 'Eran un destino' (2021). ´

Javier Olalde has recently published the book 'Escalando el muro', by the Vitruvio publishing house, where he has published a large part of his poetry to date. We have spoken with him about this new book and his literary work.
