The 82nd Madrid Book Fair will be under the shade

One of the novelties of this edition is that part of the route will be covered by tarpaulins which is expected to help exhibitors and visitors withstand the high temperatures expected in June.

The Madrid Book Fair has presented today the program for its 82nd edition at the Eugenio Trías Municipal Public Library. Eva Orúe, its director, has also reviewed the main novelties of this annual event between books, which this year will be held from May 26th to June 11th in El Retiro Park and whose inauguration coincides with the last day of the electoral campaign of the regional and municipal elections.

Andrea Levy, delegate of the Government Area for Culture, Tourism and Sport of the Madrid City Council, and Marta Rivera de la Cruz, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Community of Madrid, took part in the presentation ceremony. The delegate has confessed to waiting all year for this not-to-miss engagement with reading in El Retiro. She, too, has described the work of writers, translators, editors, and booksellers as an act of generosity by making it possible for us to "live other different stories from ours."
