María Fernández: «There is nothing like the experience of visiting a bookstore and reading on paper».

Our tour of the bookstores in our country continues. And this time we have come to Madrid's Barrio de las Letras to visit a charming bookstore, Crazy Mary. Its furniture and the arrangement of its books make you feel at home. María Fernández, the bookseller, has told us a little more about a project that she wants to continue in promoting small businesses.

How did the idea of opening Crazy Mary come about?

“The idea of opening a bookstore and becoming a bookseller arose after reading the diaries of Frances Steloff, who opened an emblematic bookstore in New York in 1920, the Gotham Book Mart.”
