The V Vargas Llosa Biennial will pay tribute to Raúl Padilla López

During the V Biennial there will also be a keynote discussion between the Peruvian Nobel Prize for Literature and Marisol Schulz Manaut.

With the motto "Literatura para tiempos recios" (Literature for tough times) and as a tribute to the memory of Raúl Padilla López (1954-2023), founding president of the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL) who died last April, the Vargas Llosa Chair, the University of Guadalajara (UdeG), the International Foundation for Liberty and the University of Guadalajara Foundation will hold the V Mario Vargas Llosa Biennial, from May 25th to 28th, at the Santander Performing Arts Complex, the Enrique Díaz de León Auditorium and the University of Administrative Economic Sciences of the UdeG.

The meeting will be attended by Mario Vargas Llosa, as well as the five finalists for the Biennial Novel Prize and more than 30 Spanish-speaking authors.

The opening ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 25th at 6:00 p.m. in Room 2 of the Santander Performing Arts Complex and will be attended by Mario Vargas Llosa and the five finalists for the Novel Prize, which the Vargas Llosa Chair will announce next week.
