Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial has announced on Monday the acquisition of Roca Editorial, founded in 2003 and directed by Blanca Rosa Roca since its creation.
The operation represents a new step in the collaboration that both firms began in 2007 in the publication of paperback books and the distribution of Roca’s paper titles in Spain and Latin America.
Founded in Barcelona in September 2003 by six partners with extensive experience in the book world, Roca Editorial launched its first titles in March 2004 and has managed, under the leadership of Blanca Rosa Roca, to be one of the ten most independent publishers. important in Spanish.
With a catalog made up of more than 1,100 titles of fiction, non-fiction, children’s and youth literature, and comics distributed on the Roca, Corner, Sapristi, and Roca Bolsillo imprints, Roca Editorial publishes around 150 titles a year by national and international authors such as Elia Barceló, Dulcinea, Fernando Rueda, Cristopher Paolini, Nicholas Sparks, John Verdon, among others.
The general director of Roca Editorial, Blanca Rosa Roca, has been “proud” of the work achieved by the current partners of the firm, Carlos Ramos, Ángel Molina, Sunsi Molins and Silvia Fernández. The publisher recalled that they all worked together at Ediciones B and founded the new label “with the motto ‘a small great publishing house'”.
