"Territories of words" will be the motto of Leer Iberoamérica Lee 2023.

For the fifth consecutive year, Leer Iberoamérica Lee proposes a dialogue with thirty specialists: writers, researchers, editors, booksellers, journalists, community leaders, literary critics, musicians. Leer Iberoamérica Lee 2023 will be held on May 29th and 30th in face-to-face format, at the Casa de América in Madrid (Gabriela Mistral Amphitheatre) and also in virtual format. The seminar is organized by Laboratorio Emilia, JCastilho Consultores and the Madrid Book Fair.

"Territories of words" will be the motto of the event. Recover the meaning of words, bet on resistance to the emptying of words in today's society, highlight reading and the voices of literature in the rescue of meanings. The organization opens a dialogue on the emergence of words in a complex society, marked by a strong debate around issues such as inequalities, democracies, the environment, feminism, or racism. The meeting tables are organized around themes such as: the power of words, black words, untamed words, words that fly, words that hurt, migrant words, words and memory, words and reading, the poetic word, the silence of words and the rescue of words.
