The presentation of the award was in the assembly hall of the Cultural Area of El Corte Inglés in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, one of the usual settings where ceremonies, gatherings, presentations and viewings take place at the Atlantic Tenerife Noir Festival.
Last Friday, March 24th, the director of the Festival, Alejandro Martín Perera, presented the award to the author, Vic Echegoyen, and then, after a screening of the "book trailer" of the novel, the editor, journalist, and writer Miguel Ángel de Rus presented the novel to an audience made up of journalists, readers, and authors of crime novels.
"Sacamantecas" excelled among the 315 novels presented from 29 countries to this edition of the award. Her editor, Miguel Ángel de Rus, highlighted that she is the second woman to win in 12 years, and the first time that a novel sent from abroad wins. (Echegoyen has lived in Hungary for 30 years).
