TBR, the new publishing label that sets its sights on what is recommended on TikTok

If platforms like Wattpad or Webtoon have been a space for publishers for years to find new writers, the new label TBR sets its sights on those young people who, through social networks, can turn a self-published book by an unknown author into a success.

This was explained to EFE by Xohana Bastida, editor of this new label presented last Wednesday, and which starts with titles such as "Batalla de Gallos", where five of the best "freestylers" such as Hander and Tirpa challenge each other on paper; or "Un destino de ira y fuego," by KA Tacker, whose success was born on TikTok.

"This publishing house is made by young people and for young people because young adult literature, which before was only for certain ages, is becoming its own genre which people of any age can enjoy. If before it was the adults, booksellers or teachers, the ones who decided what young people read, now it is the young people who say what is read and this is due to the rise of social networks," said Bastida.
