The headquarters of the Instituto Cervantes has commemorated International Women's Day
by receiving in the Caja de las Letras the legacy of Carmen Caffarel (1953), Carmen de Burgos (1867-1932), María Lejárraga (1874-1974) and María Zambrano (1904 -1991).
The 'in memoriam' legacy of the three now-deceased authors were deposited by other women like them, who presented their respective personal and expert profiles.
The memoir of Carmen de Burgos, journalist, and author, much more famous as Colombine, was entered in box number 1255 by the writers Concepción Núñez Rey (a scholar and specialist in the work of the mentioned translator and educator) and Lara Moreno.
Accompanied by Raquel Caleya, director of Culture of the Institute, they have deposited the books by Carmen de Burgos, “La mujer actualizada y sus derechos” (a first edition) and “Peregrinaciones. Mis viajes por Europa,” which includes an epilogue by Ramón Gómez de la Serna, as well as a document folder with images of moments and essential written contents of her history and work.
