“Las mujeres de Federico” is the joint work of the writer Ana Bernal-Triviño and the illustrator Lady Desidia. The two create a singular and marvelous narrative universe drawn from the feminine relationship in the work of the poet and playwright García Lorca.

It was published in 2021 by Lunwerg and it is a narrative full of beauty in which the women engineered by Lorca come to life, meet, and relate to each other. It is surprising and quite a feminist tribute, but also a beautiful memory of the author from Granada. A little gem.

Lorca's universe. In order to understand and explain this book, it is necessary to take a look at Lorca's literature. And it is that the author's dramatic work is full of female characters with whom we are moved, laugh, and suffer. They are strong personalities who live complicated lives by the standard of the times and the customs of an iron society and patriarchal values. Some examples of the characters that we find in “Las mujeres de Federico,” are Doña Rosita la soltera (Doña Rosita the spinster or the language of flowers) and Bernarda (La Casa de Bernarda Alba), among others, such as Angustias, Martirio, Magdalena, and La Novia, whose names in Spanish suggest the burdens in their lives.
