Antonio Muñoz Molina, CEDRO 2023 Award

The authors and editors of the CEDRO Board of Directors have agreed to award the writer Antonio Muñoz Molina with the CEDRO 2023 Award for his defense of copyright and the work of authors, and for his constant militancy in favor of a sustainable culture.

«In this seventh edition of the CEDRO Award we wanted to highlight that for Antonio Muñoz Molina the defense of intellectual property and diverse culture have been constants in his life. He has not only claimed it in his journalistic columns, but he also went to the Congress of Deputies at the time to defend the need to adequately protect culture and copyright, "explained Daniel Fernández, president of CEDRO.

The writer Antonio Muñoz Molina was born in Úbeda (Jaén) in 1956. He has received, among others, the Principe de Asturias Award for Letters; the Planeta Award, the Jerusalem Award, the Prix Médicis Étranger and was a finalist for the Man Booker International Award with his novel “Como la sombra que se va” in 2018.

Since 1995 he is a member of the Real Academia Española (Royal Spanish Academy). He shares homes between Madrid and Lisbon.
