Exhibitions, conferences, and different events, along with the official celebration of Comic Book and Comic Book Day next Friday, March 17.

To "recognize the weight of the history of comics, its importance in the current context and its diversity, creativity and quality", the Minister of Culture and Sports proposed to the Council of Ministers to declare March 17 Comic and Comic Book Day; a celebration repeatedly claimed by the profession, and which has the collaboration of the Comic Sector as a binding cultural agent.

The commemoration is celebrated for the first time this year and the date refers to the beginning of the publication of the legendary TBO magazine, which led to the popular designation of the medium. Miquel Iceta recognized that it is "a thriving and growing industry," with more than 40 publishers in the country, close to a thousand authors and more than four thousand titles published yearly in Spain.
