The writer Salvador García-Bodaño Zunzunegui (Vigo, July 17, 1935) has died this Tuesday, March 7th, in Santiago de Compostela, as reported by the Royal Galician Academy (RAG).
In a statement sent to the media, the RAG highlights that García-Bodaño was one of the most outstanding and innovative figures of the 50's. "He knew, as very few did, how to raise his voice and, in very trying times, make singing a liberating, proven channel," stated his contemporary and academic, Arcadio López-Casanova (1942-2022).
With a very thoughtful and sporadic production in publications, the Royal Galician Academy recalls that in-between books, he collaborated in magazines and different journals, maintained an intense journalistic output, cultivated translation and was a prominent cultural activist since the dark years of the dictatorship.
