The award, promoted by the Instituto Cervantes and the publishing house La Cama Sol, is endowed with 7,000 euros.

The Instituto Cervantes and the publishing house La Cama Sol, with the support of the poet Joan Margarit's family, have announced the creation of the Joan Margarit International Poetry Prize to promote the work of the Catalan author throughout the world. The award is endowed with 7,000 euros and the publisher will broadcast the award-giving speech and will promote it both in Spain and abroad, with translations into Spanish, English and French.

It will be the Spanish embassies abroad, the foreign ones located in Spain and the directors of the Cervantes institutes from all over the world who will present the candidacies.
